Carrie Haddad has been many things. She’s been a dancer, a model, an actress, and an entrepreneur. But her biggest feat started in 1991 when she opened Hudson’s first fine art gallery. She was the first and only gallery on Warren Street. As of last year, there were 32 galleries in the city.
“It’s been incredible. Next May, we’ll be celebrating 30 years!”, Haddad tells us empathically. She is genuine, warm, and leaves you smiling.
Haddad’s passion for the arts extends beyond the gallery and to the artists themselves. She is known for having created long-lasting relationships with painters, photographers, sculptors, and mixed media creators, thanks to her determination and efforts to promote local art.
Hudson was much different when she first opened her gallery, and one of her main goals has been to increase art tourism in Hudson. Many of the artists live within live within 50 miles of the gallery.
Occupying 3000 sq ft. on Warren Street, the gallery is conveniently located just two hours north of Manhattan. The annual exhibition schedule accommodates 8 exhibits on the main floor as well as a rotating selection of photography displayed on the second floor.
