Photographer Peter Margonelli refined a variety of techniques to capture the abstracted landscapes for which he is known. In "Color Fields," Margonelli employed aerial photography to flatten and capture the patterns and colors of the modern industrial landscape. Several works from "Color Fields" are available.

Peter Margonelli was a photographer focused on abstracting the relationship between the industry and the natural world. Through various means of reducing his subject’s forms, whether it be the blurring of rain on a windshield or the flattening view of a landscape from above, he drawed attention to patterns and alignments in the contemporary industrial landscape. His images reflect a sense of an emotional landscape and inner world, more in-line with painters like Diebenkon than with a traditional photography practice.
