The abstract paintings of Ethan Boisvert often begin with a random sketch and find form and narrative through an overlay of direct painting, drips, homemade print making techniques and stencils. "Dirty saves Lennie", shown here is acrylic and charcoal on canvas from 2019.

Ethan Boisvert Biography
As an artist I work in an array of different mediums. This particular work is from my photography portfolio, which is almost completely abstract in nature. There are few indicators of anything real, in the sense of tangible objects, although all of the images portrayed are shot in camera and not created in Photoshop or other digital programs. The work is macro, a term applied to photography dealing with capturing images of very small objects such as pennies, key chains, flowers, magazine article cutouts, etc. I generally use refraction methods of shooting through glass and liquid, to further enhance the abstraction, which creates more fluid like compositions that align with classical western European masters of the pre avant-garde era.
